“To start, please just light it up at night and work towards some public visitation days when regulars like me can come inside without breaking the law. :)”

“Let it remain the beautiful ruin that it is. With some protection and care it can be a fascinating and educational experience for generations to come. Once you "restore" you lose the story. Rome has ruins so why not Detroit?”

“I think it would be really cool if it was kept somewhat a ruin. But referbish part of the first floor enough that there could be a train station cafe/resturant so that people could enjoy it. Also with the possibilites of there to be tours which would be a great way to recieve some income!”

“I think the station itself, is too large to become just one thing…but could easily become a public gathering place. Small business loves community, so what if the first few floors were refitted for business, cafes and coffee shops, local artisans, galleries, etc. Many of the spaces are wide open, with broken windows, how about creating a vertical park, someplace where visitors could take the coffee they bought on the main floor, sit on grass growing beside a window on the sixth floor. ”

“Then abandon Detroit Depot should be converted to a space where one can tour the train station and learn the architecture and history of the building. This reminds me of the situation in New York where the city + design group transformed the abandon railway into a thriving urban public park. This would be highly successful in the up and coming Corktown. Every Detroiter is familiar with the exterior of the train station but the interior remains a mystery. Therefor, reviving the interior just enough to give tours will bring many people into the corktown vicinity to experience the train st...”

“Wow what a Building! The options are only limited by your imagination. Make the two end towers into living spaces...ie. apartments, a major hotel chain, or whatever. I see a plush spa, restaurants, theater for live performances, office space, a florist, mall...the options go on from there. We can bring people in on the train And show them a fabulous time.”

“I think that the station should be used to rehabilitate the city of Detroit. First, it would be nice to use part of it as an art and music center for the youth of Detroit. I believe that art and music are soul food and that our youth is our hope. this city is in need of soul food. I also think that part of it should be used to address the homeless issue in the immediate area. A lot of people live outside or in abandoned buildings in that area. I am an addiction survivor and a former teenage runaway...... thank God that I survived. This gives me a unique perspective though...I know what it's...”
