“The idea that I have is like one stated before, just how Ford Field added the old Hudson building to stadium design. Do the same thing with the train station with a new arena for the Red Wings. Allowing Illitch Holdings to take over building for all of their different business ventures having a building to be based out of in Detroit. The family wants to see Detroit be successful so having them involved would be very beneficial for the building not to continue to be an eye sore for the city. ”

“Now, I'm not a local of Detroit - or, of Michigan. I'm from Virginia. I will be moving to Detroit soon so I've started researching the area and what it has to offer. In my search, I've come across MCS. My heart breaks seeing such a marvel standing as a shadow of its former self. I hope that the restoration efforts continue and are completed. The possibilities for this building and its grounds are endless. I think about Union Station in Washington, DC and I think that a similar idea would work well here if not better. Union Station is home to lots of really nice shops (Godiva Chocola...”

“Maybe turn the lower levels into a Train terminal!,try to get Amtrak as interested as possible!,and put Restarants and shops in the waiting room such as Max & Ermas,Olive Garden,DQ,Quiznos, etc.maybe turn the mezzenaine into a small convention center.also maybe rebuild the train shed and use the 2 tracks closest to the building for Amtrak trains to park and use the other tracks for a small Railroad Museum. Also maybe use the 2nd floor for a memorialbialia museum and use all the other floors for a hotel and use the very top level for an observation floor and restarant and turn the right side ...”

“Convenient Connection point to/from DTW and Ann Arbor. In additon it would be great to see it used as a multi-use building; residential, commercial, services, botique hotel, a food market mimicing that of Grand Central market in nyc's terminal, rotating fairs and events in the grand lobby, possibilities are endless....love to have an atmosphere like union station in Washington D.C. or the terminals in NYC---then market the hell out of it as the place to see in Detroit 'first'.”

“I think Cobo needs to be demolished to reopen the river front for better development. A new convention center placed nexted to the MCS so the MCS can be hotel, office, and support space. Then a light rail line installed along Michigan Ave to transport people downtown.”

“Whatever you do with the station, it should be a place that people want to go. It is an icon in Detroit and would draw locals and visitors alike. You can see it from miles around. Be creative and make it a place people want to visit- maybe restaurants, shops, hotel, train station, who knows? I am so excited that it is being renovated and I am from the suburbs. ”

“I'm from New York. The station was built by our railroad, the New york Central and our architects, Warren and Wetmore, the architects of Grand Central (Which has been lovingly restored). Just put it in a box and ship it back to sand we will take good care of it. Thanks.”

““Let the Detroit Derby Girls (www.detroitderbygirls.com) use it for their public games and practice space. Along with that includes an 80+ network of women local to Detroit to help clean, restore, and network for the building. Women from all different backgrounds, that could also use the building as a training facility and to bring junior derby in to Detroit for our youth and coach them to be physically active, as well as other leagues and male teams. In addition, it could be used as a great physical training facility, since I am sure it has plenty of stairs!”
